Hyundai Genesis (DH): Front Suspension System / Front Lower Arm Repair procedures

Replacement
[4WD]
Remove the lateral arm
1.
Loosen the wheel nuts slightly. Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.
2.
Remove the front wheel and tire (A) from the front hub.

Tightening torque:
88.3 ~ 107.9 N.m (9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 ~ 79.6 lb-ft)

   
Be careful not to damage the hub bolts when removing the front wheel and tire.
3.
Loosen the steering gear box mounting bolts and then pull the steering gear box in direction of down.

Tightening torque:
88.3 ~ 107.9 N.m (9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 ~ 79.6 lb-ft)

4.
Loosen the flange bolt & lock nut.

Tightening torque :
137.3 ~ 156.9 N.m (14.0 ~ 16.0 kgf.m, 101.3 ~ 115.7 lb-ft)

5.
Unscrew the flange bolt and lock nut (A) to disconnect the lateral arm from the strut assembly (B).

Tightening torque:
137.3 ~ 156.9N.m (14.0 ~ 16.0kgf.m, 101.3 ~ 115.7lb-ft)

6.
Remove the split pin and nut. And then disconnect the lateral arm from the knuckle using SST (09568-2J100).

Tightening torque:
88.3 ~ 107.9 N.m (9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 ~ 79.6 lb-ft)

7.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
8.
Check the front alignment.
(Refer to Tires/Wheels - "Alignment")
Remove the compression arm
1.
Loosen the wheel nuts slightly. Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported
2.
Remove the front wheel and tire (A) from the front hub.

Tightening torque:
88.3 ~ 107.9 N.m (9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 ~ 79.6 lb-ft)

   
Be careful not to damage the hub bolts when removing the front wheel and tire.
3.
Loosen the nut and then remove the compression arm from knuckle.

Tightening torque
88.3 ~ 107.9 N.m (9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 ~ 79.6 lb-ft)

4.
Loosen the flange bolt & lock nut, remove the compression arm (A).

Tightening torque:
137.3 ~ 156.9N.m (14.0 ~ 16.0kgf.m, 101.3 ~ 115.7lb-ft)

5.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
6.
Check the alignment.
(Refer to Tires/Wheels - "Alignment")
[2WD]
Remove the lateral arm
1.

Remove the front wheel and tire (A) from the front hub.

Tightening torque:

Loosen the flange bolt & lock nut.

Tightening torque :
137.3 ~ 156.9 N.m (14.0 ~ 16.0 kgf.m, 101.3 ~ 115.7 lb-ft)

5.
Unscrew the flange bolt and lock nut to disconnect the lateral arm from the strut assembly.

Tightening torque:
137.3 ~ 156.9N.m (14.0 ~ 16.0kgf.m, 101.3 ~ 115.7lb-ft)

   

    Removal 1. Remove the front wheel and tire (A) from the front hub . Tightening torque: 88.3 ~ 107.9 N.m (9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 ~ 79.6 lb-ft)

    Removal 1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal. 2. Remove the head up display bezel (A). 3. Remove the instrument cluster. (Refer to Indicators And Guages - "Instrument Cluster") 4. Remove the head up display unit bracket (A) after loosening the mounting nuts.

    Inspection 1. Connect the battery voltage and check the blower motor rotation. 2. If the blower motor does not operate well, replace it with a genuine blower motor check for proper operation. 3. Replace the blower motor if it is proved that there is a problem with it.
