Description
The temperature control actuator is located in the heater unit. It regulates the temperature according to the procedures as follows.
The temperature control actuator is operated by the temperature switch and adjusts the position of the temperature door to regulate discharge temperature.

    Replacement 1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal. 2. Recover the refrigerant with a recovery/recycling/charging station. 3. When the engine cools down, drain the engine coolant from the radiator.

    Inspection 1. Turn the ignition switch OFF. 2. Disconnect the temperature control actuator connector. 3. Verify that the temperature control actuator operates to the warm (Driver's side) or cool (Passenger's side) position when connecting 12V to terminal 3 and grounding terminal 4.

    Inspection 1. Turn the ignition switch ON. 2. Connect the GDS. 3. Emit intensive light toward the photo sensor using a lamp, and check the output voltage change. 4. The voltage will rise with higher intensive light and fall with lower intensive light.

    Inspection 1. Turn the ignition switch OFF. 2. Disconnect the console temperature control actuator connector. 3. Verify that the console temperature control actuator operates to the defrost mode when connecting 12V to terminal 3 and grounding terminal 4.
