Hyundai Genesis (DH): Power Trunk Module / Repair procedures
| The initialization and learning value saving |
|
All initialization and setting of PTM cannot be done by the diagnosis tool (GDS). They must be manipulated manually. |
The initialization and learning value saving are the works to
reduce the variations of the parts comprising PTM. In other words, if a
new drive unit or trunk panel is installed, the trunk opening angle may
be different depending on the part variations If the initialization is
done, trunk opening and closing are repeated and the initial values are
set after recognizing the trunk opening angles.
The PTM initialization is a method to reduce the trunk
opening angle difference which could occur when replacing the parts. The
saved initial values are memorized permanently.
| 1. |
To replace the PTM unit
| (1) |
Install a new PTM unit in the car and then connector |
| (2) |
Close the trunk manually |
| (3) |
When using the outside hand switch to open the trunk, the initialization is completed with a buzzer sound. |
|
| 2. |
To replace parts that can affect PTM, except the PTM unit parts
| (1) |
Press the trunk inner switch |
| (2) |
Press the trunk outside hand switches at the same time |
| (3) |
When pressing 3 seconds of more, a buzzer sound is issued one time. |
| (4) |
Close the trunk manually |
| (5) |
When using the outside hand switch to open the trunk, the initialization is completed with a buzzer sound. |
| 1. |
You should not stop the trunk when saving the parameter
values. Ensure that the parameter values can be saved by power opening
and closing based on PTM (Power Trunk Module) control. |
| 2. |
The safety function is on while the parameter value is being saved. |
| 3. |
Once the parameter value is saved, the value will not be
deleted even though the battery is discharged and you will not have to
do the saving process again after charging the battery. |
| 4. |
If you do the saving process again after saving a parameter value, a new parameter value is saved in the power trunk module. |

System Overview
RPAS (Rear Parking Assist System) is an electronic driving
aid that warns the driver to be cautious while parking or driving at low
speed. The sensor uses ultrasonic waves to detect objects within
proximity of the vehicle.
RPAS consists of four RPS sensors which are detecting the
obstacles and transmit the result separat
