Hyundai Genesis: Rear Seat / Rear Back Armrest Repair procedures

Put on gloves to protect your hands. |

• |
When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver or use a prying trim
tool, wrap it with protective tape, and apply protective tape around the
related parts, to prevent damage. |
• |
Use a plastic panel removal tool to remove interior trim pieces to protect from marring the surface. |
• |
Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels. |

Remove the rear seat cushion assembly.
(Refer to Rear Seat – “Rear Seat Assembly”) |
2. |
Remove the rear seat back assembly.
(Refer to Rear Seat - "Rear Seat Assembly") |
3. |
Loosen the mounting bolts and nuts and remove the rear back armrest (A). |
4. |
Disconnect the connector (A).

Twist the headrest guide to pull it out. |

• |
Be careful not to damage the steel clip (B). |
|

5. |
Disconnect the rear curtain switch connector (A).
(Refer to Body Electrical System - "Rear Curtain Switch") |
6. |
Remove the wiring mounting clips (A). |
7. |
After loosening the mounting bolts and nuts, remove the rear back armrest (A).
Tightening torque :
19.6 ~ 29.4 N.m (2.0 ~ 3.0 kgf.m, 14.5 ~ 21.7 lb-ft)

Install in the reverse order of removal. |

Removal
1.
Loosen the wheel nuts slightly. Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.
2.
Remove the front wheel and tire (A) from the front hub.
Tightening torque:
88.3 ~ 107.9 N.m (9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 ~ 79.6 lb-ft)
