Description A spark plug is a device for delivering electric current from an ignition system to the combustion chamber of a spark-ignition engine to ignite the compressed fuel/air mixture therein by means of an electric spark, while containing combustion pressure within the engine.
Inspection [On vehicle inspection] 1. Accelerate the engine to about 3,000 rpm for 3 minutes or longer. 2. Remove the spark plug. 3. Check the spark plug visually.
Removal 1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal. 2. Remove the front/rear bumper cover. (Refer to Body - "Front Bumper Cover") (Refer to Body - "Rear Bumper Cover") 3. Disconnect the connector (B) from the parking assist sensor (A).
Replacement 1. Discharge refrigerant from refrigeration system. 2. Replace any faulty tubes or hoses. Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture or dirt out of the system. 3. Tighten the bolt or nut joint to the specified torque.
