Introduction of quick brake warning system (ESS)
In case of quick brake by the driver, the brake lamp or turn signal blinks to warn against the vehicle approaching from the rear.

Basic function (the brake lamp/emergency lamp blinking

Operating condition: in case of quick braking over a certain speed or ABS operation
B.
Releasing Condition: when the quick brake finishes or the ABS function is released.

Additional function (the turn signal blinking)

Operating condition: in case of quick braking at low speed
B.
Releasing condition: when the vehicle starts running

    Removal 1. Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable. 2. Remove the Engine room fuse & relay box (B) after removing the cover (A).

    Inspection 1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal. 2. Remove the crash pad lower panel. (Refer to Body - "Crash Pad Lower Panel") 3. Remove the lower crash pad switch assembly (A) after disengaging the mounting clip. 4. Remove the rheostat switch connector (A).

    Removal 1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal. 2. Remove the glove box housing (A). (Refer to Body - "Glove Box") 3. Remove the PGS unit (A) after loosening the nuts. Installation 1. Install the PGS unit. 2. Install the glove box housing.
