Hyundai Genesis: Steering wheel / Repair procedures

Removal

1.	Disconnect the battery negative cable from the battery and then wait for at least 30 seconds.

2.	Turn the steering wheel so that the front wheels are placed in the straight ahead position.

3.	Remove the airbag module. (Refer to Restraint - "Driver Airbag (DAB) Module and Clock Spring")

4.

Disconnect the connector & lock bolt (A) and then remove the steering wheel by using special service tool (09561-11001). Tighten the lock bolt appropriately and install the SST (09561-1101) in order to separate the steering wheel easily. Do not use a hammer to remove the steering wheel, it may damage the steering column.

5.	Install in the reverse order of removal. When installing, do not reuse the steering lock bolt.

Disassembly

1.	Remove the screw and separate the lower cover.

2.	Disconnect the steering wheel remote switch connector (A).

3.	Remove the remote control switch (A) & (B).

4.	Install in the reverse order of removal.
