Hyundai Genesis (DH): Timing System / Timing Chain Repair procedures

Removal
1.
Set No.1 cylinder to top dead center (TDC)/compression.

Turn the crankshaft pulley clockwise and align its groove with the timing mark "T" of the lower timing chain cover.

Check that the mark (A) of the camshaft timing sprockets is in the straight line on the cylinder head surface as shown in the illustration. If not, turn the crankshaft clockwise, making one revolution (360

    Inspection 1. Turn the ignition switch OFF. 2. Disconnect the mode control actuator connector. 3. Verify that the mode control actuator operates to the defrost mode when connecting 12V to terminal 3 and grounding terminal 4. Verify that the mode control actuator operates to the vent mode when connected in reverse.
