Hyundai Genesis: Floor Console / Console Armrest Repair procedures

Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries. |

• |
When removing with a flat-tip screwdriver or remover, wrap protective tape around the tools to prevent damage to components. |
• |
When removing the interior trim pieces, use a plastic panel removal tool not to damage the surface. |
• |
Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels. |
|

Remove the gear knob and boots (A) by pulling them vertically.
• |
Take care to remove the shift lever knob because unlike some models, turning it for removal damages the shift lever knob. |
|
• |
After inserting the shift lever knob into the gear shift lever stick, give it a push with a rubber hammer (pressure: 55±10kgf). |
• |
Keep pushing it until the installation line on the stick becomes invisible. |
|

Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the front console upper complete (A). 
|
3. |
Disconnect the connectors (A). 
|
4. |
Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the console side cover (A).

5. |
Remove the console armrest tray (A). 
|
6. |
Remove the console armrest service cover (A). 
|
7. |
Loosen the mounting bolts, remove the console armrest (A). 
|
8. |
Disconnect the connectors (A). |
9. |
Remove the front console armrest (B). 
|
10. |
Install in the reverse order of removal.

Make sure the connector is connected properly. |
• |
Replace any damage clips. |
