Removal
   
Use caution when handling the transfer case.
Preventing the ITA (Integrated Transfer case Actuator ) from damage
1) In case of transporting the transfer case
Use caution when lifting the transfer case from the transporting package to make sure the ITA does not collide with the other transfer case.
Use caution for the ITA not to be impacted from the floor or structure.
2) In case of assembling the transmission
Use caution for the ITA not to be impacted from contacting the transmission, floor or structure.

1.
Remove the transfer case from the vehicle.
(Refer to 4 Wheel Drive (AWD) System - "transfer case assembly")
2.
Release filler plug (A) and oil drain.

3.
Install the slide hammer on the flange (A).
4.
Pull out the flange (A).

5.
Remove the radial seal ring (A).

Installation
1.
Attach radial seal ring on the press in tool.
2.
Knock with the plastic ring into the trasfer case housing.

3.
Place the circlip in the groove of the flange.

4.
Insert the new flange (A) into the transfer case by applying slight strokes of the plastic hammer.

5.
Fill the lower edge of the filler plug (installed transfer case) with the oil.
Tighten the plug to 60 Nm(6.0kgf.m, 43.4lb-ft).

Oil type: Shell TF0870

   
Replace gasket before reinstalling the filler plug.

6.
Install the transfer case in the vehicle.
(Refer to 4 Wheel Drive (AWD) System - "transfer case assembly")
7.
After the installation, start the engine and then check if there are any leakages from the transfer case.
