Replacement
[LAMMDA]
1.
Loosen the wheel nuts slightly. Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.
2.
Remove the rear wheel and tire from the rear hub.

   
Be careful not to damage the hub bolts when removing the rear wheel and tire.
3.
Remove the split pin, then remove castle nut (A) and washer from the front hub.
Tightening torque :
196.1 ~ 274.6 N.m (20.0 ~ 28.0kgf.m, 144.7 ~ 202.5 lb-ft)

4.
Remove the bracket (A).
Tightening torque :
53.9 ~ 63.7 N.m (5.5 ~ 6.5 kgf.m, 39.8 ~ 47.0 lb-ft)

5.
Loosen the mounting bolt (A).
Tightening torque :
39.2 ~ 58.8 N.m (4.0 ~ 6.0 kgf.m, 28.9 ~ 43.4 lb-ft)

6.
Disconnect the rubber hanger (B), (C) and then remove the muffler.

7.
Loosen the mount bolts and then aluminum cover (A).
Tightening torque :
5.0 ~ 8.0 N.m (0.5 ~ 0.8 kgf.m, 3.6 ~ 5.7 lb-ft)

8.
After making a match mark (C) on the rubber coupling (A) and rear differential companion (B), remove the propeller shaft mounting bolts (D).
Tightening torque :
88.3 ~ 107.9 N.m (9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.0 ~ 79.5 lb-ft)

   
1.
When retightening the propeller shaft mounting bolts after removing them, each bolt and washer must be placed in its original position and bolt insertion direction must be the same as before, so make marks not to allow the bolts and washers to be mixed up before removing the propeller shaft.
2.
If the position and direction of the propeller shaft mounting bolts and washers are reversed, it may cause vibration and noise at high vehicle speeds due to imbalance in the propeller shaft.
3.
If abnormal vibration and noise occur at high vehicle speeds after replacing propeller shaft with a new one, balance the propeller shaft with a balancing machine.
9.
Remove the differential carrier assembly mount bolts (B).
Tightening torque :
78.5 ~ 98.1 N.m (8.0 ~ 10.0 kgf.m, 57.9 ~ 72.3 lb-ft)

   
When removing the bolt, use a jack for safety.
Tightening torque :
78.5 ~ 98.1 N.m (8.0 ~ 10.0 kgf.m, 57.9 ~ 72.3 lb-ft)

10.
Loosen the bolts and then remove the rear driveshaft.
Tightening torque :
68.6 ~ 78.5 N.m (7.0 ~ 8.0 kgf.m, 50.6 ~ 57.9lb-ft)

   
When installing, follow the sequence below to tighten the bolts.

Bolt tightening sequence :
1>2>3>4>5>6 or 4>3>2>1>6>5
11.
Installation is the reverse order of removal.
[TAU]
1.
Loosen the wheel nuts slightly. Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.
2.
Remove the rear wheel and tire from the rear hub.

   
Be careful not to damage the hub bolts when removing the rear wheel and tire.
3.
Remove the split pin, then remove castle nut (A) and washer from the front hub under applying the break.
Tightening torque :
196.1 ~ 274.6 N.m (20.0 ~ 28.0kgf.m, 144.7 ~ 202.5 lb-ft)

4.
Loosen the bolts and remove the cover (A).

5.
Remove the bracket (A).
Tightening torque :
53.9 ~ 63.7 N.m (5.5 ~ 6.5 kgf.m, 39.8 ~ 47.0 lb-ft)

6.
Remove the parking brake cable.
(Refer to Brake System - "Parking Brake Assembly")
7.
Remove the wheel speed sensor (A) from the rear axle carrier.
Tightening torque :
6.9 ~ 10.8 N.m (0.7 ~ 1.1 kgf.m, 5.1 ~ 8.0 lb-ft)

8.
Loosen the mounting nut and remove the assist arm (A) using a SST (09568-2J100).
Tightening torque :
88.3 ~ 107.9 N.m (9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 ~ 79.6 lb-ft)

9.
Loosen the mounting bolt and remove the trailing arm (A).
Tightening torque :
98.1 ~ 117.7 N.m (10.0 ~ 12.0 kgf.m, 72.3 ~ 86.8 lb-ft)

10.
Remove the shock absorber mounting bolt (A).
Tightening torque :
137.3 ~ 156.9 N.m (14.0 ~ 16.0 kgf.m, 101.3 ~ 115.7 lb-ft)

11.
Remove the rear upper arm front (B) & rear upper arm rear (A) link.
Tightening torque :
A : 88.3 ~ 107.9 N.m (9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 ~ 79.6 lb-ft)
B : 117.7 ~ 137.3 N.m (12.0 ~ 14.0 kgf.m, 86.8 ~ 101.3 lb-ft)

12.
Remove lower arm mount bolt (A) from rear axle carrier assembly (B).
Tightening torque :
137.3 ~ 156.9 N.m (14.0 ~ 16.0 kgf.m, 101.3 ~ 115.7 lb-ft)

13.
Remove the rear drive shaft.

    Replacement 1. Remove the condenser. 2. Remove the cap (B) on the bottom of the condenser with the L wrench (A). Tightening torque : 9.81 ~ 14.71 N.m (1.0 ~ 1.5 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 10.8 lb-ft) 3. Remove the receiver-drier (A) from condenser using a long nose plier.
